San Jose State Falls To Texas-San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Melvin Johnson III scored 22 points and Devin Gibson had 16 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday night as UTSA defeated San Jose State 72-63.

T.J. Williams had 10 points for the Roadrunners (4-1), who let a 12-point first-half lead slip away but pulled away at the end.

Justin Graham led the Spartans (4-2) with 18 points and 11 rebounds. San Jose State rallied to take the lead at 34-32 on Keith Shamburger's jumper. UTSA took the lead for good at 47-45 on Gibson's pair of free throws with 10:44 to play, and the Spartans held on by making 7-of-10 from the foul line in the last 2 minutes.

Adrian Oliver had 17 points before fouling out, and Shamburger added 14 for the Spartans.
