Report Calls For Restoring San Francisco Muni Service Cuts
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - A roadmap of sorts was circulated at San Francisco City Hall, laying out plenty of recommendations for improving Muni - yet there was no funding made available to get the job done.

The report was written by a Muni working group formed by Mayor Gavin Newsom and Supervisor David Chiu to deal with this year's 10% service cuts. About 60% of those cuts were already restored, leaving this new report to deal with what's left.
"The report is essentially the roadmap for, as fund's become available, how do we prioritize the spending of those monies to improve and restore service?" explained Newsom spokesman Tony Winnicker.
The proposals included adding service on the N-Judah and Mission corridor lines, among others. The report also called for allowing riders to board at all doors, and the elimination of some bus stops.
"The idea is not to just throw money that may come in at an old, inefficient system," reasoned Winnicker. "The idea is to enhance and improve service, target the monies that we do get in to make it a better overall system."
