Foster Leads Santa Clara Over San Jose State

SAN JOSE (AP) -- Kevin Foster scored 21 of his 26 points in the second half, including the go-ahead basket with 26 seconds left, and Santa Clara ended a three-game losing streak by beating San Jose State 67-63 Friday night.

Evan Rocquemore added 14 points for the Broncos (5-4), who won their first road contest. Ray Cowels made three free throws over the final few seconds and finished with 10 points.

Adrian Oliver scored 26 points to lead the Spartans (5-3), who have lost three of five after starting the season with three consecutive wins. Justin Graham added 16 points.

Foster gave the Broncos a 59-58 lead with a pull-up jumper with 1:53 left. Oliver tied it after hitting 1 of 2 foul shots with 42 seconds remaining.

After Foster's go-ahead 3-pointer, Ben Dowdell got a hand on Oliver's 3-point try.

The Spartans led at the half 27-26.
