Man Who Killed Mother, Grandmother Commits Suicide In Tracy Prison
TRACY, Calif. (AP) -- A 48-year-old inmate at Tracy's Deuel Vocational Institution is dead after he was found hanged in his cell.
Prison spokesman Lt. Gilbert Valenzuela said Thursday that Jack Squires committed suicide on Dec. 7.
He says Squires had recently been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of killing his mother and grandmother.
Squires hanged himself with a bed sheet. Valenzuela says he had been housed in a cell with another inmate, but he was alone at the time.
