Narsai David Wine Review: B.R. Cohn Winery
(KCBS) - KCBS Food and Wine Editor Narsai David reviews a 2009 Chardonnay and a 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma.
Listen to Narsai's Review:
The 2009 Sonoma County Chardonnay has a pale straw color with floral aromas of violets and Meyer Lemons. Those lush floral and citrus aromas give a mouthful that fills the palate with lingering, balanced flavors. There is a firm backbone, with a touch of oak that makes this perfect with a rich seafood dish, lobster maybe. Very nice price at $24.
The 2008 Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the Trestle Glen Estate is Kosher. The wine has a deep purplish-red color with spicy, lush, ripe grape aromas. Black berries and ripe currants add to the complexity. Dry, firm, almost austere on the palate. Here's a wine to age for a few years. It would work beautifully with a roast beef for the holidays. $28.00
