SAN JOSE (KCBS) – Jeff Rosen, the man replacing District Attorney Dolores Carr, has promised that prosecutors will reopen hundreds of unsolved murders and rapes, as well as review questionable convictions in cases already won.

“The public’s perception of the office is not perhaps what it should be. We have an outstanding District Attorney’s Office and we’re going to work very hard to earn the public’s trust,” said prosecutor Jeff Rosen.

KCBS’ Mike Colgan Reports:

His victory over Carr marked the first time an incumbent Santa Clara County district attorney had lost in more than 80 years. Rosen named veteran prosecutor Jay Boyarsky as his chief assistant.

Rosen will be sworn in at a small, private ceremony on Jan. 3.
