Package Triggers Bomb Scare At Livermore Bank

LIVERMORE (CBS 5) -- A suspicious package triggered a bomb scare and led to the evacuation of a Livermore bank on Thursday, authorities and witnesses told CBS 5.

Someone dropped off the package at the Bank of America branch near 1748 Railroad Avenue and P Street around 11:30 a.m. , according to officials.

Police evacuated the building and called in an Alameda County bomb squad to examine the package at the scene.

A bank employee said police had cleared the scene about 1 p.m. and indicated that everything was OK.

Police were not immediately available to provide further details.
