3 Detained In Fatal Shooting Of Richmond Teen

RICHMOND (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) -- Richmond police have detained two men and a juvenile in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy outside his grandmother's home.

Deshawn Grisby was found dead around 3:35 p.m. in front of a housing complex in the 4000 block of Fleming Avenue, police Sgt. Bisa French said.

French told the Contra Costa Times that Grisby had just exited the residence when someone ran up to him and fired several shots.

French said police knew the model and license plate number of a suspect's vehicle. Authorities spotted the car about two hours after the shooting and took the suspects into custody.

Police do not know what prompted the attack.
