Raiders Bring Back Bresnahan As Assistant

OAKLAND (AP) - The Oakland Raiders are bringing back Chuck Bresnahan for a second stint with the team as a defensive assistant.

The team did not say what Bresnahan's duties will be when the hiring was announced Tuesday. Coach Hue Jackson, who worked with Bresnahan in Cincinnati, praised him for his motivational skills and ability as a teacher.

Bresnahan coached the Raiders defensive backs in 1998-99 before becoming defensive coordinator for four seasons. Oakland won the AFC West in his first three seasons and went to the Super Bowl following his third year in 2002.

Bresnahan spent last season as defensive coordinator for Florida in the UFL. He has also been defensive coordinator for three years with the Bengals and coached as an assistant with Indianapolis and Cleveland.
