Gunman Shoots Up AC Transit Bus; 1 Injured
RICHMOND (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) -- An AC Transit passenger was injured by shattered glass when someone shot at a bus as it was stopped at an intersection in North Richmond on Wednesday night, authorities said.
The shooting happened shortly before 10 p.m. on a 72-line bus that was stopped at Third Street and Grove Avenue, AC Transit spokesman Clarence Johnson said.
He indicated that a group of about eight males in their late teens to early 20s had approached the bus and one of them briefly boarded, looked toward the rear seats, then got off. As the group was walking away, at least one shot was fired from outside the bus.

"It shattered a rear window, and some of the glass from the rear window injured one of the eight passengers that were on board," Johnson said.
Contra Costa County sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said the injured man was transported to Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo, where he was treated for minor cuts from the shattered glass.
After the shooting, the bus driver drove the bus about two blocks before calling in and reporting the incident, Johnson said. The bus was taken out of service.
Lee indicated that investigators recovered a bullet and multiple shell casings at the shooting scene, suggesting that more than one shot may have been fired.
While it was unclear why the shooting occurred, Johnson said that "the person who was injured was apparently the person they were shooting at," Johnson said.
No arrests had been made as of Thursday afternoon, but Lee said the investigation was continuing.
