Cal Women Lose To Oregon For 1st Time Since 2007

BERKELEY (AP) -- Ariel Thomas scored 21 points as Oregon snapped a four-year, 10-game losing streak to California with a 60-46 victory on Thursday night.

The game was close for the first 10 minutes, but then the Golden Bears (14-13, 6-10 Pac-10) went 6:24 without scoring, allowing the Ducks (13-13, 4-11) to pull to a 28-16 lead. Cal never threatened again.

Amanda Johnson grabbed a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Deanna Weaver also scored 13 for Oregon.

The Ducks last beat Cal on Feb. 15, 2007 in Eugene, Ore. Their last win in Berkeley was nearly six years ago on Feb. 26, 2005.

Talia Caldwell had a double-double for Cal with 10 points and a career-high 20 rebounds. DeNesha Stallworth finished with 12 points for the Bears.
