Man Arrested In New Attack At Napa State Hospital

NAPA (BCN) - Napa State Hospital police have arrested a man on suspicion of false imprisonment, sexual battery and attempted rape, a jail official said.

Jesus Hernandez Tobar, 30, was booked into Napa County Jail on Wednesday at 1:35 p.m., the official said. Bail has been set at $250,000.

A Napa State Hospital spokeswoman did not immediately return a call to provide details on the incident.

It is the third violent incident at Napa State Hospital since last October 23, when a psychiatric technician Donna Gross was strangled to death at the hospital, allegedly by a patient.

The suspect, Jess Willard Massey pleaded not guilty in January. A preliminary hearing is scheduled in May.

Another hospital employee, therapist George Anderson, was attacked at the Napa hospital on December 11. He was hospitalized for treatment of fractures and released.

Patient Sean Bouchie was arrested for the attack but he was found mentally incompetent to stand trial.
