Dogs Rescued From Burning San Jose Home
SAN JOSE (BCN) - Firefighters rescued five dogs from a burning house in San Jose Sunday evening, a dispatcher said.
Crews responded to reports of smoke coming from the side of a single-family home on the 2300 block of Carlton Avenue, dispatcher Brenda Jaime said. Arriving firefighters put out the fire by about 8 p.m., Jaime said.
No injuries were reported, but five dogs were rescued from the garage of the home. The dogs were turned over to the local Animal Care and Control.
No damage estimate was immediately available and the fire is still under investigation.
Jaime couldn't say why the dogs couldn't stay in the home, but the residents did not request housing assistance from the American Red Cross, she said.
