Police Hope Surveillance Photo Helps Catch Benicia Bank Robber

BENICIA (CBS SF) - Police released photos Wednesday of a man who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank branch inside a Benicia supermarket on Tuesday.

The robbery occurred inside the Raley's supermarket at 892 Southampton Road at about 11:30 a.m., Lt. Mike Daley said.

The robber demanded money from a teller, put it in a bag and calmly walked out of the store, Daley said.

The suspect is a black man, about 40-50 years old and 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, with a stocky build. He was wearing a blue plaid shirt over a black hooded sweatshirt and a black baseball cap, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Detective Gregg Rouse at (707) 746-4251 or Solano Crime Stoppers at (707) 644-7867 (STOP).
