MONTARA (CBS SF) — Conservative leaders from around the country gathered at a private home in Montara Thursday evening to raise funds to challenge President Barack Obama’s presidential re-election bid in 2012.

The Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama, a newly formed political group associated with the Tea Party Express, hosted “An Evening with the Joes,” a fundraising event featuring Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio; Joe Miller, a former Republican candidate for Senate from Alaska; and “Joe the Plumber,” campaign vice president Ryan Gill said.

Also expected to attend are conservative activist Melanie Morgan and Sharron Angle, Republican candidate for Nevada senator in 2010.

Tickets for Thursday’s event range from $212 to $2,012, Gill said.

The group plans to hold a formal campaign launch in Washington, D.C., later this spring, Gill said.

Nickie boy, maybe if you put two brain cells together you might realize that our elected officials jobs are to listen to their constituents such as Mr. Samuel Wurzelbacher and address any issues they might have. Like the issue you have with mental clarity and what’s the best way to get you help. Get a clue, in fact take two.

Bravo Ant! You managed to compose a comment. Wonderful, you and your mommy must be so proud. To bad it lacked both rational thought or a grown up intelligence. Next up, staying within the lines when you color. And don’t you stay out past dark now, you know how your mommy worries.

Defensive? I haven’t a need to be defensive. Unlike your need for using pejorative words that demean yourself and keep you in perpetual adolescence. Besides I was only stating the obvious. Which I’m sure completely puzzles you. But do not fret, you’ll probably grow out of it.

DM (Donkey Mouth) it isn’t his skin color, it’s his ears, I have only seen ears like that on a donkey, oh that’s right he is a donkey.
Just because Bush make mistakes, & wasn’t a great president doesn’t make BO good! I know your upset because Bush was white! You need to quit your racism, It was white people that elected BO.

Both parties have let the people down by allowing government to become more intrusive and making more people dependent. Fortunately we have a few good Joe’s trying to make some changes that allow for yankee ingeniuty, individual responsibility and accountability in our government.

It was a grand event! People of all races, ages and political backgrounds came as one! The theme was to “Defeat Barrack Obama in 2012″ That says it all! I don’t care what you call yourselves, if you’re for fiscal responsability, abiding by our Constitution and preserving our individual and private property rights and our first ammendment, the right to free speech, then you should join us on our next event!

You should have been there! It was energizing!

Absolutely fabulous event with warm and friendly crowd clearly passionate about America, our Constitution and fiscal responsibility. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the “Joes.” and other truly nice and sincere people. Kudos to the organizers of “Defeat Barrack Obama in 2012″ and to our hosts. The energy was warm and positive. Glad I could be a part of it.
