Los Altos Hills Home Becomes First Ever To Sell For $100 Million

LOS ALTOS HILLS (CBS 5) — A Russian billionaire investor has purchased a lavish, 25,500-square-foot mansion in Silicon Valley for $100 million, believed to be the most ever paid for a single-family home in the United States.

Yuri Milner, 49, an investor in Facebook, Groupon and Zynga, apparently has no immediate plans to move into the home in the community of Los Altos Hills.

Milner is the founder of Digital Sky Technologies, an investment firm he started in 2005.

The mansion purchased by Milner is a French-style chateau set on 18 acres in hills overlooking the San Francisco Bay.

The estate has a ballroom, wine cellar, gym, spa and pools inside and outside.

The sale price beats the previous high of $95 million, which was paid in 2008 for an estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

Facts would be nice. The fact is there are no 18 acre estates in the city of Los Altos and this estate is not located in the city of Los Altos, it is in Los Altos Hills a completely different community

How about environmentally efficient? I don’t see any solar panels. Is it energy efficient? Just because he can afford to doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be responsible to and respect the environment. What? No putting greens? Or are those inside too. Ha! Oh yes, and what about the home theatre? I agree, the pool is a bit boring.
OK, he has money, but does he have class?

  • Matt Sloughter

The guy made over a billion dollars, all because people have a need to gossip and tell the world what they are doing at every moment of the day via Facebook.
One friend posted he found a lost check. One friend posted that he and his wife were eating at a sandwich shop. Why do people post non essential everyday lifes events on facebook? You have investors making billions off your gossiping.

    • Gary Steele

You’re just upset because you’re not one of those billionaire investors. Sour grapes are ugly on anyone.

  • Heather

The pool is a lap pool, that’s why it looks so small, it’s not for “recreation”.
