BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) — The state Highway 4 Bypass in Brentwood was closed in both directions Sunday morning due to a fatal crash, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

Officers responded to a crash reported on the Highway 4 Bypass at about 5 a.m. just east of Lone Tree Way, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

The fatal crash appears to have involved a pedestrian, Anderson
said.

Brentwood Police Department is investigating the incident.

The Highway 4 Bypass was expected to be shut down until 11 a.m.
