Norcal Soldier Dies In Afghanistan

REDDING (CBS/AP) — A 23-year-old soldier from Redding has died in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense said on Saturday that Army Spc. Preston Dennis died on April 28 in Kandahar province from wounds he sustained when his unit was hit by an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Drum, N.Y.
