3 Arrested In Walnut Creek Decoy Operation

WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) — Officers arrested an adult and two minors during a decoy operation used to expose adults selling alcohol or tobacco to minors in Walnut Creek on Friday, according to police.

The adult, a Walnut Creek resident, was arrested on suspicion of providing tobacco products to minors, police said.

One of the minors from Lafayette was arrested for being in possession of alcohol, and another minor from unincorporated Walnut Creek was arrested for being in possession of tobacco products, police said.

All three suspects received a citation and a court date.

The decoy operation involves a minor who stands outside a convenience store and asks patrons to buy alcohol.

Friday’s operation targeted five stores in Walnut Creek.
