SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) – A Republican gay rights group is again asking a federal appeals court to immediately lift the ban on gays serving openly in the U.S. armed forces.

Lawyers for Log Cabin Republicans told the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in legal papers filed Tuesday that Congress still could derail the ongoing effort to rescind the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

Several Republican lawmakers have proposed amendments to a defense bill a House committee is set to consider Wednesday that would slow repeal.

A 9th Circuit panel is already considering the government’s appeal of an order by a California trial judge barring enforcement of the ban. Log Cabin wants the panel to remove its hold on the order or put the case on a fast track.

What an idiot “Rich” is. This story is about a group of REPUBLICANS who wish to lift the ban on gay’s openly serving in the military. That is something all liberals should be applauding. It also shows that Republicans are far from the “hypocrites” the left likes to point them out to be. The real “hypocrite” here is is “Rich” who is no doubt a Democrat. A Democrat who is closed minded, ignorant and intolerant. THAT is a hypocrite people.
