Hillsborough Police Officer Charged In Domestic Violence Case
HILLSBOROUGH (CBS/AP) -- A Hillsborough police officer faced domestic violence charges after allegedly shoving his ex-girlfriend during an argument.
Prosecutors said 40-year-old Martin Fritzsching was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday on two misdemeanor counts each of domestic violence and trespassing. He is also facing one count of child endangerment for allegedly leaving firearms and ammunition within the reach of his ex-girlfriend's children.
Fritzsching entered his ex-girlfriend's home without knocking on April 13 while off-duty, according to prosecutors. The two allegedly got into a fight when the woman, who was at home with another man, asked him to leave.
Fritzsching allegedly pushed her before leaving. Prosecutors said he returned a short time later and shoved her several more times.
He is out of custody on $50,000 bail. Hillsborough police said Fritzsching has been placed on paid administrative leave.
