Stanford Advances To Women's Tennis Final Vs. Florida
STANFORD (CBS / AP) ― Mallory Burdette clinched top-seeded and second-ranked Stanford's 4-1 victory over Baylor on Monday in the NCAA women's national team tennis semifinals at Stanford.
Burdette defeated Nina Secerbegovic 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2 singles to send the Cardinal (28-0) to the final to defend their national title.
Stanford will face top-ranked and second-seeded Florida in a rematch of last season's championship after Allie Will clinched the Gators' 4-0 victory over UCLA.
The Gators (30-1) won their 20th straight. Florida's lone loss came to Stanford on Feb. 21 in the championship match of the National Indoor Team Championship.
