Artists Come To Los Gatos For Fundraising Project

LOS GATOS (KCBS) - Masterpieces would be appearing on street corners in Los Gatos Friday. Three dozen artists from around the country were invited, out of a field of 80 applicants, to paint outdoor scenes - with the proceeds going to charity.

"If you are in town," suggested Janice Perry with Los Gatos Morning Rotary Club, "you'll see artists on various street corners and around the town actually painting."

"Please feel free to walk up and say hello to them," she added.

KCBS' Mike Colgan Reports:

Participating artists said they enjoyed being able to travel to different locations for their art, and of course, it is their livelihood.

All of the paintings would be on display Saturday at the Los Gatos Plaza.

A silent auction of some of the works would benefit various nonprofits in the community, including Los Gatos Music and Arts.
