An armed populace certainly does make for safer streets, doesn’t it. Oakland should be the NRA poster city.

Well Captain Obvious, obviously, you don’t get it. No one is advocating arming everyone. Not an “armed populace” but “armed law abiding citizens”. Obviously, there’s a big difference. If you know anything about the NRA, you will know that they have always advocated placing the responsibility for the crime on the criminal, where it belongs, not on an inanimate object.

To blame a gun for a crime is the same as blaming your keyboard for a typo. It only does what you make it do.

There is evidence that several corrupt DoJ, DoD and CIA employees had taken bribes from Al Quida in exchange for information and logistics support during the four years prior to 9/11.

When one considers that the 9/11 terrorists could take jumbo jet flying lessons, move about the US unobstructed, live for several weeks less than 2 miles from NSA head quarters and be on State Department watch lists, even without the supporting evidence of bribery this makes sense.
