FAIRFIELD (BCN) – Five teens were arrested Thursday on suspicion of robbing a store in Fairfield on June 28, which resulted in the death of the store’s owner.

The strong-arm robbery occurred at Travis Dairy, located at 140 E. Travis Blvd.

Three suspects assaulted and pepper sprayed storeowner Ho Jun Kim, 70, and stole items from the store, including the cash register, police said.

Kim called police at around 7:50 p.m. and reported that his store had been robbed and that he required an ambulance.

Kim was taken to the NorthBay Medical Center in Vacaville, where he died at 8:36 p.m., the Solano County coroner’s office said.

Deputy Coroner Ray Lamb said he died of “cardiac arrhythmia due to emotional distress caused by an assault.”

Detectives reviewed video footage from nearby businesses, interviewed witnesses, and recovered evidence including the cash register, police said.

Two 17-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy from Fairfield and a 17-year-old boy from Vacaville were arrested and are facing charges of homicide and robbery. Their names are being withheld due to their ages.

Chelsea Johnson, 18, of Vacaville, was also arrested and is suspected of driving the getaway vehicle, according to police.

    Enough with the

“Their names are being withheld due to their ages.”

If they are old enough to commit such a heinous crime, they are old enough to be identified.

I totally agree with you on this subject! These little rats should be identified so their friends and family can see the filth that has come from them. They need to be exterminated as we would any other vermin. My prayers are with Mr Kims family.

Kids are becoming more braisen. This to show you that our laws are not strict enough because Kids know that they will get away with the crime with a very light punishment. People will argue that they are kids, but honestly if they are kids and they do this type of stuff, i cant imagine what they will do when they become an adult. *shudder*

    1. Mouse says:

SARCASM – You see, we have to be tolerant of our kids and we must let them experience the world. Returning home at 3 AM on a school night should not be frowned upon. Give them easier acces to garbage like Grand Theft Auto games, MTV, and gangster rap. Also, don’t bother to find out who your kid’s frineds are and where they hang out.

Structure, education, and respect? Who needs that?

    When will they be executed?

    1. mechanic says:

Not soon enough! That’s for sure!

They’re guilty until proven innocent according to some posting here. I’m just as angry about this incident as anyone would be, but there is still a process that has to be followed or else vigilantism and anarchy becomes the practicing rule by emotionalism that serves absolutely no one, including the victim and his family. Hopefully, the right suspects were arrested. Never assume the police caught the actual perpetrators until they’ve had their day in court. If the wrong suspects were arrested and tried, then justice has not been served.
