Daily Madden: Playing To Win The All-Star Game

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The National League World Series team will have the home field advantage this season, thanks to the NL victory over the American League in Tuesday night's All-Star Game. During his chat Wednesday with the KCBS morning crew, John Madden said he's not convinced that's a good idea, since the incentive to win may mean not everyone plays.

"If you're selected and you do go, you should play in the game," Madden said. "I think it would be unfair to go through everything an All-Star does and then not be able to play in the game."

John said he's also never been a fan of TV interviews with entertainers during sporting events, such as Justin Timberlake promoting his new show. "It upsets me, because they don't reciprocate. You don't go to someone's movie and a baseball game breaks out... You've never been to a concert and guys start playing catch and you start interviewing Tom Brady or someone." (7:25)
