3rd Straight Bay Area Spare The Air Day Declared
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued a Spare the Air alert for Wednesday -- the third consecutive day this week.
Air district officials are encouraging Bay Area residents to drive less and limit home energy use to reduce pollution levels.
"This late seasonal hot spell is expected to create conditions for unhealthy air quality for the third day in a row," said Jack Broadbent, executive officer of the air district in a statement.
This is the seventh Spare the Air alert for smog this year.
