President Obama Arrives In Bay Area To Attend Fundraisers

MOFFETT FIELD (CBS SF) — President Barack Obama arrived at Moffett Field Sunday afternoon for a series of fundraising events and to attend a town hall meeting on Monday at Mountain View-based LinkedIn.

Air Force One landed at 5:53 p.m. and was greeted by San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed, Mountain View Mayor Jac Siegel and NASA Ames center director S.P. Worden, as well as around 70 other VIPs.

The plane arrived around 28 minutes late because a previous fundraiser the president attended in Washington, D.C. ran late.

Obama deplaned at 5:42 p.m., spent a few minutes shaking hands and signing autographs, and then left in a motorcade of about 20 vehicles.

He is expected to attend two fundraisers Sunday night, one at the Woodside home of Symantec Chairman of the Board John Thompson and one at the Atherton home of Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg.

Monday’s event, “Putting America Back to Work: LinkedIn Presents a Town Hall with President Obama” will be a forum for a live audience of LinkedIn members and employees — plus online members nationwide — to ask the president about job creation and the economy, according to the White House press secretary’s office.

To prep for Obama’s visit, LinkedIn created an online community centering on job creation and economic issues.

Members of the online professional network are invited to take part in the  discussion via this group, where they can share questions and comments for the president.

To watch Monday’s live town hall meeting, officials encouraged the public to log onto LinkedIn.com or WhiteHouse.gov/live.

Over a hundred people boo’d him and gave him the thumbs down as he passed. Nine people cheered him. I was looking for that in this report, but it is strangely absent. Why?

Just think how many families the $30,000 a dinner can feed the poor families. Since these rich Democrat which do not pay fair share of the taxes care so much about the poor, the money should not be going to re-elect Obama, it should go the poor. If you need money to tell prople who you are after 4 years, then you do not desrve another 4 years.

Behold President Empty Suit has landed. Great. Maybe he’ll give another speech on how he’s going to great at jobs by taxing and spending. The man is a moron of the highest order, and so are his supporters. Obama es sólo otro impuesto y gasta a socialista.

I hope these greedy corporate execs and CEO let loose of the cash and start investing in America again. Use to be a time people did it for the country…now they just look at the bottom line and how much it is going to line their own pockets. It is truly sad people do not think about their fellow man…and have become so greedy. Is it really fair a CEO makes 660 million and his workers make barely a LIVING WAGE? I don’t think so. It’s not class warfare…it’s math…stupid!

  10. Bryan says:

Will he be stopping by the Solyndra plant? He can have a really cool time messing with all the equipment! He won’t even have to wait to use it! Won’t even need Secret Service protection unless there’s a ghost or two wandering around in there.

If Obama spent as much time on the job issues as he does campaigning, maybe we would have some improvement in the job market.
