Man Shot And Killed At Funeral For Hells Angels Member In San Jose

SAN JOSE (CBS / AP) – A man was shot and killed during a funeral in San Jose for a member of the Hells Angels.

San Jose police spokesman Jose Garcia says police were called a little before 1 p.m. Saturday after of shots were heard at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

KCBS’ Mark Seelig Reports:

The victim was slain inside the chapel and reportedly he was a member of the Hells Angels.

Some 4,000 people attended the funeral. Police were already on the scene when the shooting occurred because a large turnout was anticipated.

Thousands of bikers were expected to ride into Oak Hill Memorial Park to honor the memory of Jeff “Jethro” Pettigrew, the president of the city’s Hells Angels chapter. Pettigrew was shot to death in a gun battle at a casino in Sparks, Nevada.

Pettigrew worked as backhoe operator who paved potholes. He lost a leg in a motorcycle accident about 20 years ago.

There were no suspects or arrests in Saturday’s shooting. The cemetery was shut down while police continued their investigation.

    I see this as a “two fer”, whoever shot him will end up being taken out of circulation and the guy who got shot definitely is out of circulation.
    Why was he shot?

    I hear the shooter is hiding in the crowd of “Occupiers” in downtown Oakland. I think the H.A. should go down there and find him.
