Amber Alert Issued For Missing NorCal Boy, Girl

ANDERSON, Shasta County (CBS SF) -- The Shasta County Sheriff's Department has issued an Amber alert for a boy and girl who were taken by a neighbor during a fishing trip.

Michael Sandoval, 7, and Mya Sandoval, 5, have not been home since around 6 p.m. Sunday, according to emergency officials.

The suspect, April Swartz, is the children's neighbor at the Balls Ferry Fishing Resort in Anderson.

Swartz may be under the influence of controlled substances, according to an Amber alert notification.

Swartz, 31, is described as a white woman with blonde hair and hazel eyes. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds.

Michael Sandoval is 4 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 57 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes.

Mya Sandoval has brown hair, hazel eyes, stands 3 feet 7 inches tall, and weighs 40 pounds.

The suspect and children were traveling in a white 1997 GMC Yukon with an Oklahoma license plate No. 118BZR.

Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is urged to call 911 or the Shasta County Sheriff's Department at (530) 245-6135.
