Daily Madden: How KC Can Help The Raiders

OAKLAND (KCBS) - The Oakland Raiders hope the Kansas City Chiefs play well on Sunday. The Raiders not only have to beat the Chargers, but need the Broncos to lose to the Chiefs if they're to move on to the playoffs.

"Kansas City has a shot here," John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "I don't think they're going to roll over for Denver."

John said the Broncos are a good team, but are especially vulnerable after back-to-back losses.

"When you lose, you not only lose that game, but you lose a little confidence, maybe a lot of confidence," Madden said. "The thing with the Broncos and Tim Tebow is the turnovers. In the last two or three games his turnovers started to pile up. And when you do that, that's a recipe to lose."

The San Francisco 49ers get a first round bye in the playoffs with a win in St. Louis Sunday.

"The 49ers getting a bye is such a big thing because one, you get the week off so you get to kind of heal up a little. And then two, and the bigger thing, is you get an automatic win...in the first round of the playoffs."

John said he sees little chance the Rams can beat the 49ers.

KCBS sports anchor Steve Bitker asked John if the Rams were capable of some "razzle dazzle" to upset the 49ers.

"If they had a lot of razzle dazzle that they could pull out," Madden said. "They would have pulled it out before now and they wouldn't be fighting for the first pick in the draft. No, St. Louis isn't very good." (9:05)
