2 Oakland Shootings Leave 3 Hurt

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- While most celebrated the beginning of 2012, some in Oakland rang in the new year violently, as three were injured in two separate shootings early New Year's Day.

The first shooting happened only 15 minutes into the New Year, when police responded to the 1500 block of Linden Street on reports of a shooting.

One victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital. The victim is currently in stable condition.

A second shooting was reported downtown near the corner of 14th Street and Broadway at 1:08 a.m.

Two people were injured in that shooting. Both were transported to a hospital by ambulance and are in stable condition.
