Man Shot In Face With BB While Waiting For Mission District Muni Bus

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A man was shot in the face with a BB gun while sitting at a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus stop in the city's Mission District early Monday morning, police said.

The 43-year-old victim was waiting at the bus stop at Mission and 24th streets at about 12:55 a.m. when the shooting occurred, according to police.

A male suspect believed to be in his late teens approached the victim and said something to him, then shot him once in the face with the BB gun and fled, police said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, according to police.

The suspect remains at large. Anyone with information about the shooting or suspect is asked to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
