Police Arrest 15-Year-Old Son For Murder Of His Parents Near Lake Merritt

OAKLAND (CBS SF) — Oakland police have arrested a 15-year-old boy they say killed his own parents in a double homicide discovered Friday night.

Robert Kamin, 55, and Susan Poff, 50, were found dead in a car parked outside their home on the 200 block of Athol Avenue Friday shortly after 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Police had first responded to the home around 3:30 p.m. on Friday after a concerned employer called to report that an employee had not reported to work.

Officers conducted a well-being check and spoke to an individual at the house, but nothing seemed suspicious and the officers left.

Around 9:30 p.m. police received a second call, and checked the home again. It was then that they found Kamin and Poff in a vehicle outside the home.

The two were pronounced dead at 10:46 p.m.

Nothing appeared suspicious at the 3:30pm welfare check (when it was daylight), but six hours later – when it was dark – the cops found the bodies in the car at the same place????

So, how thorough was that 3:30pm check???????

Let assume bodies were there at 3;30 and the OPD were called to the location. The only explanation for such is the dead are Blacks and the car were parked in a dark area.

how did he kill them, what lead them to the car ?
    what was his excuse?

    • Banana Sam

He killed his parent with a single banana, the banana peel were near the car and the reason for the killing…spoiled banana.

It seems that “routine” has become a problem or the cop(s) is more worried about being sniped when approaching and leaving than to look into parked cars. I think Oakland is so busy with its problems that this sort of call is
    done ASAP.

You can blame the mishaps on the focus of the Occupy Movement in Oakland. All 10 OPD officers (including overtime cops) were around Ogawa Plaza. Oakland’s streets were left baron and free to criminals to act as they please without fear of the po-lice.
Just wondering what the 15 year old child was thinking when he killded his parents / guardians.
