GameDay: Highlights From The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
CBS 5 Sports Director Dennis O’Donnell hosts “Gameday” every Sunday night at 11:30pm on CBS 5 and offers his unique sports analysis here.
PEBBLE BEACH (CBS 5) – We spent four days at the AT&T Pro-Am and I scribbled down a few notes.
Favorite moment: Waiting for players off the 18th, watching the waves crash against the rocks. I get paid for this?
Worst moment: Watching Aaron Oberholzer grab his wrist in pain. (He withdrew shortly thereafter)
Best New Friend: Charlie Wi. I interviewed after rounds two and three. I told him we’d have to stop meeting like this. He asked if we could meet one more time. It didn’t happen.
Come again? Padraig Harrington, who climbed into contention on Sunday, told me he was more interested in winning the pro-am. And as crazy as it sounds, he seemed sincere. He didn’t win that either.
Worst Interview: Hoodie. Anyone surprised?
Underated Interview: John Abendroth
Biggest Regret: I didn’t make it into the Tap Room.
Thank God!: I didn’t make it into the Tap Room.
Shocker: Phil posts 64, Tiger a 75. Maybe the beller putter ain’t such a bad idea.
What a hole! Del Monte Pines Inn, the CBS5 low-budget special.
Best Celeb: George Lopez. More one-liners than Dangerfield.
Who’s got it Better than Harbaugh? 25 other amateurs
Ran out of holes: Ricky Barnes
Wi on 1st hole: FOUR!
See you on TV!
