2nd-Half Spurt Lifts Cal Women Over Utah

BERKELEY (CBS / AP) -- Layshia Clarendon scored 15 points, including 10 during a 17-0 run to start the second half, as California defeated Utah 60-46 Thursday night.

Talia Caldwell added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Golden Bears (21-7, 12-4 Pac-12), who have won six of their last seven games. Brittany Boyd had 11 points.

Iwalani Rodrigues (23 points) and Taryn Wicijowski (17) combined for 40 of Utah's 46 points. Wicijowski also had 12 rebounds for the Utes (13-13, 6-9).

Utah went scoreless for 8 minutes to start the second half, missing six shots and two free throws while turning the ball over six times. The Utes finally broke the drought when a feed inside to Michelle Plouffe went into the basket at the 11:57 mark.

Utah finished with 18 turnovers, was 1 for 10 on 3-point attempts and went to the free-throw line just six times, converting three.
