South SF Girl Allegedly Abducted By Mother Found Safe In SoCal

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A 5-year-old girl who authorities said had been abducted by her mother in South San Francisco on Sunday was found safe in Southern California Wednesday night, South San Francisco police said.

The mother, Zadoka Perez, shares joint custody with the girl's father and was visiting his home in the 500 block of Baden Avenue on Sunday when she left with his 2011 Honda Accord and their child, police said.

Perez was found with the girl, along with the Honda, at a motel in Southern California Wednesday night, according to police.

The 5-year-old has since been safely returned to her father, police said.

Police said the girl's father delayed reporting the abduction until Monday morning because he was trying to gain Perez's cooperation on his own.

Detectives had been concerned for the girl's safety.
