Suspect Sought After San Francisco SoMa Face Stabbing

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A man was stabbed in the nose in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood on Monday evening, police said.

The stabbing was reported at about 6:55 p.m. near Ninth and Howard streets.

The 44-year-old victim was standing outside a business near the intersection when a suspect walked up to him, called him a name and stabbed him in the right nostril, according to police.

The suspect, a man believed to be in his early to mid-50s, ran away and had not been found as of Tuesday morning, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.
