San Jose Police Subdue Attempted Robber With Taser

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Police used a Taser to subdue a man attempting to force entry into a San Jose resident's home on Wednesday, police said.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the backyard of the home on Willow Street near Mastic Street at 1:10 p.m.

The suspect appeared to be under the influence of drugs, possibly PCP, and was combative with the officers, police said.

Police used a Taser on the man and he was eventually taken into custody. In the process, an officer suffered a minor injury to his right hand.

The suspect was transported to a hospital and later booked into jail.
