Fire Damages Popular Greek Restaurant In SF Financial District

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A fire caused damage to the Kokkari Estiatorio restaurant in San Francisco’s Financial District Wednesday afternoon.

The fire apparently started in the flue of the 3-story brick building at the corner of Front and Jackson Streets around 1:15 p.m, according to the SFFD.

The building was evacuated as several engines responded to the blaze. The fire has since been contained.

There were no reports of injury. The restaurant did sustain damage, but it was not immediately clear how the business, which serves Greek cuisine, would be impacted.
