Golden Gate Park Road Renamed To Honor Nancy Pelosi

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - San Francisco's mayor officially renamed a stretch of roadway in Golden Gate park for longtime congresswoman Nancy Pelosi Monday.

The honor comes as the Democratic leader of the House of Representatives marks 25 years in Congress. Pelosi represents California's 8th Congressional District.

KCBS' Barbara Taylor Reports:

The road was formerly known as Middle Drive East, and runs past the back of the California Academy of Sciences and past the Aids Memorial Grove. Nancy Pelosi Drive connects Martin Luther King Jr. Drive with John F. Kennedy Drive.

Pelosi previously had a street named after her in her home town of Baltimore shortly after she was elected Speaker of the House following the 2006 election.
