Santa Clara University Student Assaulted Near Campus

SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) -- Two male suspects that assaulted a woman near the Santa Clara University campus early Monday morning remained at large, according to police.

Police said they received a call from the 20-year-old woman at 2:43 a.m. just after the assault had occurred.

The woman said she was walking near Santa Clara University at the intersection of Lafayette and Bellomy streets when two Hispanic men in their mid-20s grabbed at her arm and backpack.

Police said the woman was able to free herself from the suspects and run to safety. The victim described one suspect as heavy-set and the other as slender.
