2 Stabbed Near Pride Celebration In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Two men were stabbed near the Pride celebration in San Francisco's Civic Center Plaza on Sunday evening, police said Monday.

The victims, two 27-year-old men, were walking with friends near McAllister and Hyde streets shortly after 5 p.m. when they got into a confrontation with a group of people, according to police.

The confrontation escalated, and a suspect attacked the two victims with a box cutter, cutting one in the head and the other in the back, police said.

The victims were taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for their injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, according to police.

The suspect, described as a man between 19 and 25 years old, fled and had not been found as of this morning, police said.
