Mill Valley Rocks The North Bay
Mill Valley, located in Marin County just minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge is a town that rocks, for many reasons! Rocker and former Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir is co-owner of the renewed Sweetwater Music Hall in a new location.
It serves up “haute stoner food”, so said partner and rock star Chef Gordon Drysdale.
The cuisine does rock and is the perfect opening act for any band that performs here.
There is another rock star chef in town and he appears to be everywhere, Tyler Florence.
Florence has his footprint all over the menu at El Paseo, an American Chophouse that serves off the charts surf-and-turf night after night.
Florence’s business partner is none other than the Red Rocker himself: Sammy Hagar.
Its cozy maze of candle-lit nooks and crannies make this spot as inviting as any restaurant you ever will see.
For comedians that rock, venture to 142 Throckmorten, where on Tuesday night there are belly laughs galore. Terribly funnyman Mark Pitta is the producer and comic behind this weekly laugh fest. Big names come to perform: Dana Carvey, Mort Saul, and Robin Williams to name a few.
To escape the rock and roll, head south to Tennessee Valley where nature’s beauty abounds. Miles of trails allow for bikers, hikers, and horse riders to share the land and soak up its gifts. The ocean greets you at the end of the trail, and it’s worth the walk for sure.
At Mi-wok stables you can take a horse riding lesson and giddy up for a trot on a mare along the trails.
Mill Valley: a rockin’ little town in Marin County with a little something for everyone.
