Manhunt For Suspect Who Shot 8-Year Old Girl In Bay Point

BAY POINT (CBS SF) -- An 8-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man were injured in a shooting in Bay Point Saturday afternoon, a Contra Costa County sheriff's sergeant said.

The two victims were inside a home at 1 Franklin Ave. when a car stopped in front of the residence and a man stepped out and fired one or two rounds at the house, sheriff's Sgt. Jonathan Gackowski said.

The suspect got back into the car, described as a black Honda sedan, and was last seen heading southbound on Franklin Avenue, Gackowski said.

Family members and neighbors took the victims to a hospital where they are being treated for injuries that are not considered life threatening, Gackowski said.

The suspect was described as a black man in his mid-20s with a medium build and standing about 6 feet tall.
