Rohnert Park Man Pepper Sprays Lover's Husband, Flees From Police

ROHNERT PARK (CBS SF) -- A Rohnert Park man who apparently carried on an affair with his neighbor's wife was facing criminal charges after prosecutors said he pepper-sprayed the woman's husband during a confrontation outside their homes.

Robert Early Cameron, 40, was charged with three misdemeanors stemming from the incident, according to a Press Democrat article.

Cameron was kicked out of the house he shared with Karina Wilcox, 46, and had returned to collect his car and truck, according to preliminary hearing testimony.

Wilcox spotted Cameron outside the home, and phoned neighbor Robert O'Dell, 52, whose wife Tracy, 48, was in a romantic relationship with Cameron, according to lawyers familiar with the case.

O'Dell and his son went to confront Cameron, who brandished a pepper spray canister, and sprayed O'Dell in the face, according to police.

Prosecutors also alleged that Cameron swung at the men with brass knuckles and a billy club.

Cameron was charged with being a felon in possession of pepper spray, as well as other weapons.

A judge later reduced the charges to misdemeanors.
