3 Firefighters Hurt In Campbell Auto Shop Blaze

CAMPBELL (CBS SF) - A one-alarm fire at a Campbell auto shop injured three firefighters and shut down part of Winchester Boulevard late Sunday night.

Firefighters received reports of a fire at 3373 S. Winchester Blvd. just after 11 p.m. Sunday.

The fire appeared to be coming from the roof of the AAMCO car repair shop, which occupies one side of the two-tenant building, according to the fire department.

Police shut down the southbound lanes of Winchester Boulevard and diverted traffic to give fire crews more room to battle the fire, Campbell police Capt. Charlie Adams said.

Three firefighters were injured and were taken to a hospital. All have since been released, a fire department spokesman said.

The fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damage to the building's contents, and about $5,000 in damage to the building itself, according to the fire department.
