Palo Alto Police Search For Man Who Reached Up Woman's Dress

PALO ALTO (CBS SF) -- Police in Palo Alto on Tuesday released a sketch of a suspect who reached up a woman's dress and grabbed her buttocks on Monday.

Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault in the 600 block of Fulton Street around noon, according to Palo Alto police.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, had stopped near the front door of her car to look for her keys in her purse.

While she was standing near her car, a man walked up from behind, reached up her dress and grabbed her, police said. He then ran east on Hamilton Avenue from Fulton Street.

The woman immediately called 911. Several officers responded to search the area but the suspect was not found.

He was described as an East Indian man with black hair between 25 and 35 years old. He was wearing an orange varsity-style jacket, blue jeans and shoes similar to Vans.

Detectives were continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with information or who might have experienced a similar assault is asked to call the Palo Alto police dispatch center at (650) 329-2413.
