Tech Report: T-Mobile Offers New Unlimited Data Plan

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— T-Mobile announced it's now offering unlimited data plans for both their new and existing smartphone subscribers following in the footsteps of Sprint.  It's especially attractive as Verizon and AT&T continue to charge for data use.

T-Mobile is taking advantage of a market opportunity left by both Verizon and AT&T which are now putting all sorts of data restrictions on customers. It used to be that most cell phone companies would allow users to have unlimited data. The aforementioned two largest companies however have started limiting data and charging with confusing tiered plans.

Not only is it confusing, but it's potentially expensive for someone who wants to use their smartphone to do a lot of web surfing, download a bunch of apps, or perhaps watch videos and listen to internet radio. These are all data-intensive tasks.

KCBS Tech Report:

T-Mobile has an array of pricing plans including a $70 unlimited plan that gives you unlimited talk, text and web surfing. It's pretty affordable compared to the competition.
