San Pablo Shooting Possibly Gang Related

SAN PABLO (CBS SF) -- Investigators believe the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man in San Pablo on Sunday afternoon may have been gang-related, police said Monday.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 2100 block of Emerick Avenue at 12:07 p.m. Sunday and found the victim, a San Pablo resident, lying in the street, San Pablo police Lt. Jeff Palmieri said.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he died.

Early indications were that the shooting was possibly gang-related, but police have not confirmed that, Palmieri said.

The victim had been identified but his name had not been released, Palmieri said.

No suspects have been identified, he said.
